Why Are There Price Differences Between Different Dental Practices?

Hi, I’m Dr Debraj Chakraborty, the principal dentist of Carina Gardens Dental here at Carina in Brisbane. You can call me Dr Raj.

Yesterday, I met with one of our long-term patients, Sharon from Cannon Hill. She just finished an orthodontic treatment with us and now, she’s looking to get some porcelain veneers to perfect her smile.

During our conversation, she told me her friend got porcelain veneers from another practice at a different price. She asked me, “Hey Raj, what are the factors that impact the price of a treatment? It’s confusing when you think they are the “same” treatment, but with such a big price difference, clearly they are not.”

What she asked me was very interesting, so I thought I’d make this short video sharing with you why there are price differences between dental practices.

The first reason is the labs and materials used by the dental practice. There are a lot of materials out in the market. Some of them have been around for a long time, they are tried and tested with plenty of data behind them. They would generally cost more.

Whereas the newcomers haven’t been around as long, so there is less data to prove their safety and efficacy, but they can be a bit cheaper. Here at Carina Gardens Dental, we only use high-quality dental materials and have extensive trust in the labs we work with.

Another reason is time. How much time is budgeted for the patient’s end-to-end experience? We believe in taking our time to make our patients feel comfortable, being thorough with our diagnosis, detailed treatment planning prior to the procedure, and performing the surgery to the highest standard.

We will be with you before, during and even after the treatment.

Why Are There Price Differences Between Different Dental Practices At Carina Gardens Dental, Brisbane

Here at Carina Gardens Dental, our top priority is our patients’ long-term dental health. We look after you like our family. We don’t do to you what we won’t do to my wife or children. We want you to be comfortable, feel confident in your smile and always be able to enjoy your favourite meal.

It is important to remember that your mouth and your teeth are heavily intertwined with your overall health and well-being. From digestion to jaw alignment and even just talking, your teeth are always playing a role.

When you’re choosing your dentist, ask yourself if you’re choosing what really is the best for your health and well-being.

I hope I’ve given you some insights on the factors that can impact the price of what appears to be the “same” treatment, and why they would vary between different practices.

If you are after a new dentist to look after you and your family, we would love to take care of you.
