Why Are There Price Differences Between Different Dental Practices?

Yesterday, I met with one of our long-term patients, Sharon from Cannon Hill. She just finished an orthodontic treatment with us and now, she’s looking to get some porcelain veneers to perfect her smile.
During our conversation, she told me her friend got porcelain veneers from another practice at a different price. She asked me, “Hey Raj, what are the factors that impact the price of a treatment? It’s confusing when you think they are the “same” treatment, but with such a big price difference, clearly they are not.”
What she asked me was very interesting, so I thought I’d make this short video sharing with you why there are price differences between dental practices.
The first reason is the labs and materials used by the dental practice. There are a lot of materials out in the market. Some of them have been around for a long time, they are tried and tested with plenty of data behind them. They would generally cost more.
Whereas the newcomers haven’t been around as long, so there is less data to prove their safety and efficacy, but they can be a bit cheaper. Here at Carina Gardens Dental, we only use high-quality dental materials and have extensive trust in the labs we work with.
Another reason is time. How much time is budgeted for the patient’s end-to-end experience? We believe in taking our time to make our patients feel comfortable, being thorough with our diagnosis, detailed treatment planning prior to the procedure, and performing the surgery to the highest standard.
