How Can I Stop Snoring?
Hi, I’m Dr Debraj Chakraborty, the principal dentist of Carina Gardens Dental here at Carina in Brisbane. You can call me Dr Raj.
Last night, I received a call from one of my friends, Anaya from Carindale. She said that her partner told her she’s been snoring a lot, and now she’s embarrassed and is worried it might affect their relationship. She asked, “Hey Raj, how do I fix this?”
Anaya is just one of the many patients that came to us about a snoring problem. So I thought I’d make this video to share with you how you can stop snoring.
Snoring is not uncommon. In fact, according to the Sleep Health Foundation, about 40 per cent of men have at least mild snoring, and around 30 per cent for women.
There are anti-snoring devices that can help you to actually get rid of snoring. Here at Carina Gardens Dental, we are a certified provider of OrthoApnea NOA. This custom device tackles snoring incredibly effectively and allows you, and anyone sleeping next to you, an uninterrupted, peaceful night’s sleep.
The way it works is basically, it moves the mandible a bit forward, the lower jaw a bit forward, and then it opens the airways.
Often, you’ll find that the cause of snoring is because of the obstruction of the upper airways. But with the NOA appliance, we can reposition the mandible and help you to breathe better and hence, helps you eliminate the snoring. The device is quite comfortable, it has got a lot of movements that you can do as you use the appliance.
We find that our patients are very happy with the appliance because it’s easy to use and really helps them stop the snoring.
So if you snore and can’t remember the last time you had a restful, uninterrupted sleep, we would love help.
Simply call us on 07 3398 3918, complete the form on our website, or send us a DM on social media, and we’ll help you organise your consultation. See you in the next video.
